Susan K. Duke, Esq.

Supervising Attorney

Susan K. Duke is the founding and managing attorney of Duke Law Firm, P.C. Duke Law Firm operates with a “team” approach and Ms. Duke now uses her expertise with specific and complex issues in individual cases assigned to other attorneys within the firm. All attorneys at the firm are experienced family law attorneys but Ms. Duke has experience in certain areas and has over 25 years in family law litigation allowing her to team with other accomplished attorneys in the firm to provide advantages over solo counsel adversaries in complex cases. Ms. Duke also maintains the firm’s reputation for client responsiveness, ensuring clients feel they have access to staff or attorneys to be heard and have their questions answered.

In addition to supervising all cases, Ms. Duke handles all Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs) for the firm for all geographic counties surrounding the Rochester and Livingston County offices, including Monroe, Ontario, Steuben, Wyoming, Genesee, Allegany, Wayne, and Orleans counties.

Ms. Duke earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1995 and later earned a Master of Laws summa cum laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2005. Ms. Duke was admitted to practice in New York in 1996 and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York since 1997.

Ms. Duke holds membership in multiple professional organizations in order to keep up to date in her practice, including the Livingston County Bar Association and the Monroe County Bar Association. She also serves as a board member for Ticket to Ride, a nonprofit organization created to provide transportation to assist people with legal and social services requirements.

Ms. Duke has served as an adjunct instructor for multiple undergraduate and graduate programs as well as a paralegal education program, including teaching courses in family law, bankruptcy, and civil litigation. Ms. Duke has written for multiple legal publications, including BNA publications, the American Journal of Trial Advocacy, and the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy. Praised for her skill and ethics, Ms. Duke has been named multiple years to “Super Lawyers” and received the “Superb” rating through Avvo.
